After the devastating twisters that hit the central and eastern part of the state, we had a few days of great weather. I actually thought today will be the same like yesterday where the temperature reached to 80′s, but I was wrong. I woke up to a gloomy weather. And now, the wind is starting to blow and the clouds get darker by the minute. I checked the weather forecast and found out that there will be scattered thunderstorms today. Oh well, not again!
But just like the husband said, this is what springs brings. I am just so glad that we were spared from the tornadoes last week. That was really scary even if I only saw it on television. The devastation was vast not to mention, there were people killed.
I haven’t dealt with this kind of weather back in my home country because our city is a typhoon-free city. My husband said their city is a tornado-free city too because just like our city, it is surrounded with mountains. I am hoping and praying that he is right because whenever there are thunderstorms, there is also tornado watch. Oh boy!
The day yesterday was perfect not until around early evening when the wind started blowing followed by lighting and thunderstorms. We had to watch the news and the latest weather update and found out that thunderstorms are expected to happen starting at 9 o’clock in the evening.
And so it was. The wind was blowing hard, lighting came out from time to time and thunder was just rolling. That was really scary. They were expecting isolated tornadoes, but fortunately, our area is not included. But still it was scary.
I actually woke up a few times during the night because of the gushing wind. It makes me feel like it’s going to blow our roof off. It’s already 3:40 in the afternoon today and the wind is still blowing though, not as hard as last night. I think it will be like this until tomorrow. Whew!
