Whenever you see a couple who has just got engaged, what do you usually check? The engagement ring, right? Yep, and that’s what I looked for first thing when I see our good friend’s friend yesterday. She got engaged to her long-time beau last week and yesterday was the first time I’d seen her since then.

Her ring is really lovely. It is a an artcarved diamond engagement ring in 14k white gold. The design is simple yet elegant. I am not envious though because my engagement ring is equally as lovely, thanks to my husband who really thought about it.

My husband’s cousin who is based in South Carolina and who has a business that has something to do with document management e-mailed him again last night confirming her invitation to visit her in August. She really wants us to see her place and meet me and my son. I am getting giddy once again because I’ve never been to that state.

The husband plans of going there by the first week of August, but he still hasn’t asked for a vacation leave at work so he didn’t give her confirmation yet. He will give her the answer next week. I am hoping it will be a GO! Fingers crossed!

First there were squirrels. Then, groundhogs came next. Then came rabbits, a snake and yesterday? Deers! All of these creatures were on our yard. Isn’t it amazing? Except for the snake though because they can be harmful compared to the others. I do wonder what’s next? A bear perhaps? LOL. I am just kidding. I am not at all relishing seeing one. That would surely scare me to death.

But seeing the deers yesterday was really awesome. There was a doe and two fawns. The doe is really big, bigger than me, I guess. I got so excited seeing it that I ran to get my digital camera pronto. Good thing, the deers were still there when I got back. I took the photos from the window only though. I tried to get one from the backyard, but when the doe saw me, she ran instantly. But I got a good shot and the husband was amazed when I showed him the photos.

I read an article once about one of Asia’s grade schools being pencil free in the near future and that is because students will be using the latest gadget like the iPad. Wow! Isn’t that awesome?

Look how technology has changed and made life much easier. For certain, the latest gadgets to hit the market including laptops for students are in great demand. But I do wonder what will happen to the pencil and the pencil sharpeners? See ya, bye ya, you old school gadgets, I guess.

My husband is the sweetest man alive for me. We celebrated our fifth month of being married on the 5th – yes, we celebrate every month – and for the first time since we got married, he gave me a dozen red roses. I was really surprised because I never thought he would spend such thinking that it’s not our first anniversary yet. But as I told you, he’s the sweetest.

I asked him where he bought them and he said he ordered them online prior to our day. He certainly knows where to get those flower bouquets delivered overnight. I wonder why. Nah, just kidding. But of course he knows because that is not the only time that he gave me flowers and certainly not the last. Right, Honey?
