There are more or less ten big trees surrounding our house. Apart from that, there are also numerous trees in the neighbors’ yards as well as the vacant lot on the left side of the nearest neighbor’s house. So, imagine the leaves that are now on the ground after they have fell since fall started. Not all of them are on the ground yet actually. At this moment while I am writing this, I can see the leaves falling through the bedroom window.
If there are thousands of leaves that are on the ground now, there are still thousands of them up on the trees that are yet to fall. All the trees were already bald when we arrived here around late fall last year. This is the first time that I’ve witnessed the leaves falling one by one and covering the ground. This is something new to me and I find it really fascinating, but I feel sorry for the husband. He gets to do the yard work and just think of the cleaning up that he’s got to do. I wish I can help, but he says he can do it himself and it’s a piece of cake. Teehee.
Good boy, Hubby! Mwah!!!
Less than two months more to go and my son and I will be celebrating our one year anniversary of arriving here in the Land of Uncle Sam. The husband and I have been nostalgic because a year ago yesterday was when our visas were approved.
And though the first two weeks of my stay here was very exhausting for me, sleep wise, still, it was something so memorable for me. Everything was new and wonderful.
Our time here has a twelve hour difference from my country, thus, the sleepless nights. I received a lot of suggestions like taking pills, or drinking herbal tea, or even getting a noise machine because our house is situated near the highway. But I know that my internal clock was just messed up because of the time difference. I was okay eventually and am now sleeping restfully and normally.
A trip is on the horizon again for the three of us in a few months. We don’t know yet exactly when because we are still waiting for some people to inform us.
We are going somewhere, a different city, but within the same state we are in. This is our next long trip after our trip to D.C. in June and I was thinking and actually told the husband about staying there even for one night and maybe get one of those affordable rental houses – one that will fit our budget, that is.
The husband is kind of reluctant about it because he has used all his vacation leave and he’s not sure if his company will let him get another leave. If he doesn’t get it, we‘ll just have to be patient and wait until next year.
Do you know which thing I am referring to with the title? The leaves! Fall is definitely, without a doubt, here! Our yard has many trees, too many that I can’t count them. So, just imagine the thousands or perhaps millions of leaves that they have that our now starting to fall on the ground. All the leaves haven’t fallen yet, but there is already an enormous amount of leaves on the ground. What more if all of them have already fallen? Gosh!
We arrived here in the late Fall last year and all the leaves were on the ground already and they were all dry. It was amazing for me because that was the first time I’ve seen such. And this time of year is our first time too – seeing them fall little by little. They have almost covered the ground and soon enough, we will start raking them. I did try raking last year, only the steps though. It’s no fun, but it is something that we have to deal with. And I am not complaining because not all get the chance of seeing this change of season. Am I right?
Beautifying one’s self and making ourselves look good all the time is one thing we women are vain about. And me being one of them, I am guilty as charged. Isn’t beauty the epitome of women? So it is a given that we should always exude that beauty that we are given and take care of it, huh?
I do have my what I call before-bedtime rituals and that includes washing my face with a foam facial wash and then put moisturizer on it. I have stumbled upon dead sea mud and I really find what I read interesting to the point that I really want to try it and see how it works. It will surely be great to be more beautiful!
