We had power outages one day last week – one during daytime and thrice during night time. My husband called the power company to report the incident and before he could finish talking, the power came back on. But it went off again when we were in bed.

I’m so thankful for our flashlights because they give us light during outages. My husband has them plugged to the outlet and they automatically light up when there is a power outage. I am thankful for our universal battery charger too because our batteries are always charged and are ready whenever there’s the need for them.

Our recent trip to the nearby city – about a three-hour drive from here – was exhausting, but totally worth it. We left at 4 o’clock in the morning so, we had to get up at 3 o’clock to prepare. We had to do it because our appointment is at 7:30 in the morning. Obviously, it was still dark when we hit the road, but our concern was, it was also foggy. My husband is a good driver, but we do know accidents can happen anytime. I was worried most especially when we were traveling the roads that had no street lights. It was really dark.

But thank God, we had a safe and sound trip and we made it on time to our appointment. And of course, we had great news for that appointment. Hooraaay to that!!! And since my husband still had to get back to work before noon, we headed straight back home right after the appointment. So, just imagine how exhausting that was. Well, I was actually the only one who complained of being exhausted. My two boys? Nah-a! (“,)

I came across a Back pain seminar online today and I was like, “Darn! That is simply what I need!” Honestly, I am suffering from lower back pain from time to time now. Although I have this feeling that it is not something serious, still it bothers me. I always tell the husband that it’s no denying that I am really getting old. LOL.

I know my sitting in front of the computer almost the entire day has something to do with it. I refuse to take pain medicines because the pain is still tolerable. I know all I need is a little exercise. A walk to and from the living room and bedroom is fine enough which I do whenever I feel the need. For now it is enough, but I know it will not be enough. No problem. I will walk miles once I get to the mall. (“,)

If we were still in my home country now, my 8-yeard-old son would have had his first communion and my previous days would have been spent looking for first communion for boys gifts.

I don’t know how things are done here. Back home, the schools are the ones who organize the event since majority of the students are Catholics. I haven’t heard anything from the school here so maybe I’ll need to research on this one to find it out myself.

We went to Target yesterday to buy a shoe rack for me. I’ve been wanting to do it because I don’t like seeing all those shoe boxes filling up my closet. As the neat freak me, I want them neatly arranged in a shoe rack not to mention, I can see them right up too.

It was already late in the afternoon when we left home so, I was thinking that maybe, there will be not much traffic. Target is located near the mall which is located in one of the busiest streets here in the city so, imagine the traffic that we had to go through. The husband was expecting it, but not me. And the parking lot at Target was jam-packed too. I should have thought that it was Saturday and it is the shopping day for most people especially those who are busy with work during weekdays.

But we made it through and it didn’t really take us that long. Also, I got my shoe rack now and I couldn’t be happier. Yippee!!!

We were at a government office today when it was shown on TV the three most popular names given to girls and boys. When my son saw it, he remarked that if we will have a baby girl, it will be named Olivia. And you know why? That is the name of his school crush.

That put a smile to mine and my husband’s face. We were really amused. I wonder if he will be the one to decide on the baby’s furniture too once it’s time for us to buy some. No problem with me for as long as it’s amish baby furniture. (“,)

We went to look for curtains at Bed Bath and Beyond on Saturday. We’ve been wanting to do it and finally we were able to make it. We didn’t buy anything, though, since our main purpose was to only look and compare prices with the other window treatments that we saw at other stores that we visited. We’ve seen some that we like, but we still have a couple of stores to check before deciding where to buy.

After that, the husband decided to check Best Buy which was  next door. It wasn’t on the plan, but since he wanted to go,  off we went. I browsed the best netbooks they’ve got while the husband was busy checking the TV section and my son, the games section. We just looked around and after that, we went to our main agenda for the day which was grocery shopping. Nice day!

…come again another day. Little me wants to play. (“,)

I bet you know that phrase or was it a nursery rhyme? The rain always reminds me of that and since it’s raining today, that’s why I am reminded once again. Not only that, it reminds me of those years back when I was still a kid and I would play in the rain with my neighbors. That was one of our fun moments. The rain would always excite us because we know it’s playtime once again. We would run, play with the mud, etc.

I think that was one of the things that the kids miss doing this days. Back home, I never allowed my son to play with the rain because I am afraid he will get sick. There was never a fact that says rain makes us sick, but I just didn’t let him. He only asked me once though when his cousins played with it once and that was it.

Here , even if I will let him, he can’t because it is cold. He would freeze, for sure.
